Week in Review
This past week saw the end of round 1 of District play on Tuesday, followed by the start of round 2 on Friday.
This was a tough week of soccer for the Lady Rangers as we took on traditional soccer powerhouses Westwood and Round Rock in the same week.
On Tuesday the JV fell to Westwood 1-0 in a tightly contested match, and on Friday the Lady Ranger JV fell to Round Rock 2-0 on Friday.
In both games the JV Lady Rangers played with resolve and were very competitive. They took them both on, and did not back down playing our style of soccer. It was good to see how much the JV has grown and makes for an exciting future for Lady Ranger Soccer.
In the Varsity games, the Lady Rangers fell to Westwood 3-1 on Tuesday night. It was highly competitive match that is sure to be even tighter in round 2.
Then on Friday night the Lady Rangers drew 0-0 with Round Rock. It was a beautiful game of soccer. Both teams had chances to take the points, yet both defenses were up for the challenge. A tactical chess match that saw the Lady Rangers take a point from Round Rock for the first time in eleven years. Something to build on for the second round of District for sure.

With about a month left in our season we are seeing some wonderful soccer being played and yet our place in the playoffs is not yet secured. We must continue to focus on our efforts, our preparation, and our next game in hand. That starts with Stony Point on Tuesday. Each game moving forward is a game we can win (3 points) tie (1 point) or lose (0 points). Let's focus on taking care of business and EARNING our spot in the Playoffs.
